Today for your assignment you will listen and respond to a professional recording of our newest piece, Yuki (Snow) by Robert Buckley. We have a limited amount of rehearsal time left before our Winter Concert, so please use this video to help familiarize yourself with the piece.
Using the submission box, you will then answer the questions below. Use the both the sound and the score in the video to help you answer the questions to the best of your ability.
1- Describe the "bell tones" you hear at the very beginning. How do the musicians get the sound of a bell tone? What dynamics do they use?
2 - In what measure does the melody start and which instrument has the melody?
3 - Most of the melody measures have slurs. How do slurs affect the sound of the music? Do slurs make notes longer or shorter? Smoother or sharper?
