Mr. Ames is a 1994 graduate of Ball State University.
He served as director of bands at Knox Community High School for thirteen years prior to coming to Plymouth. His bands at Knox were repeated marching band state finalists, three-time state champion runner-up, and Bands of America Regional Champions. Under his direction, the concert programs annually earned Gold Award ratings and the band program became the nation's first-ever Conn-Selmer All-American Band Program. The Knox band toured New York and Philadelphia, Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Studios, the Bahamas, Pearl Harbor and Honolulu, Hawaii. Mr. Ames in in his 17th year of teaching at Plymouth High School. While at Plymouth, the concert and jazz programs have annually achieved Gold Award ratings and the marching band was a 2010 Class C state finalist and a 2013 Class B state finalist. The Winter Performance Ensemble was the IHSCGA Class 3A Divisional Champions and the Winter Drumline was the IPA Class B State Champion Runner-Up and Silver Medalist. In 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, the Plymouth Indoor Winds team were World Class state and WGI national finalists and the 2016 WGI World Class silver medalist. The instrumental music department has earned the ISSMA "All-Music Award" annually for 20 consecutive years and the program has toured Chicaog, the Bahamas, Washington D.C., and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. |
Mrs. Duranleau began her career at Plymouth in the summer of 2023. Previously, she served as the driector of bands at Rochester High School and Junior High School.
Mrs. Duranleau's husband, Jonathan, is also a band director (Bremen Community Schools) and they live in Plymouth with their son, Lewis. |
